Quartz crystal is a colorless transparent crystal. Mohs hardness is 7, melting point is 1713℃, Curie temperature is 573℃, density is 2.65g/cm3, D33 is 2.31pc/N, and D14 is 0.73pc/N. Quartz is commonly used material when manufacture crystal oscillator and crystal filter. Based on the principle of quartz's piezoelectric effect, the inverse piezoelectric effect, and some certain physical and chemical's change will cause the change of frequency and Q values (or equivalent resistance), it can be made into a quartz sensor, which has the advantages of high precision and sensitivity, wide measuring range, rapid response, digital output, etc.
