Lithium niobate (LN) / lithium tantalate (LT)

LN crystal is a colorless or with a slightly pale yellow color transparent crystal. Melting point is 1253 ℃, density is 4.64×103 kg/m3, Mohs hardness is 5 to 5.5, Curie temperature is 1210 ℃, spontaneous polarization is 0.71 C/m2.
LT crystal is a colorless or with light green color transparent crystal. Density 7.4564×103kg/m3, melting point is 1650 ℃, Curie temperature is 665 ℃, spontaneous polarization is 0.50 C/m2.
LN and LT are very similar in structure and performance. Both these two crystals have a high Curie temperature, good property of piezoelectric, pyroelectric, ferroelectric, electro-optical and nonlinear optical. They can be used in high temperature transducers, filters, pyroelectric infrared detectors, laser modulator and laser frequency multiplier, etc.
